Who we are

Meals Weekly is operated by Fortitude Frames Consulting. For anything in this policy, email dennis@kimden.com.au.

This policy explains what we collect, why, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Why we collect it

To run the app for you, to keep your data on your devices in step, to answer your feedback, to take payment, and to keep the service working and secure.

Grocery cost information - please read this one

When you scan a shopping docket, the individual line items - product, quantity, price, store and date - are also copied to a private internal board we use to understand grocery costs across households. This is how features like spending trends get built, and it may inform what we build or offer next.

Those rows are labelled with a household code, not your name or email. The code is produced by a keyed one-way hash held on our server, so the board itself cannot be turned back into your identity. Your email address and household name are never written to it.

This is off unless you turn it on. Nothing from your dockets is copied anywhere until you switch it on yourself, under More in the app, where you can switch it back off at any time. We do not ask for it at signup and nothing about the app works differently either way.

If you had it on and change your mind, switching it off stops anything further being copied. Email us and we will also delete the rows already there.

Who else handles your information

We use a small number of services to run the app. Each of these is outside Australia, which means your information is disclosed overseas:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it to anyone else except where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Your account data stays while your account exists. If you delete your account we remove it, along with your stats and payment references. Backups age out on their normal cycle. Grocery cost rows are kept without your identity attached unless you ask us to remove them.

Security

Passwords are salted and hashed with PBKDF2. Sessions are signed tokens that can be revoked. Your household's data is private to your household. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if a breach affects you.

Getting at your information, correcting it, deleting it

Most of it is in front of you in the app, and you can edit it there. The app also has an export. To delete your account and your household's data, use the delete option in the app, or email us and we will do it. If you have a live subscription, cancel it first so you are not charged after your data is gone.

If you want a copy of anything you cannot see in the app, email us.

Children

Meals Weekly is for adults running a household. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Household plans may name family members, and that information is visible only to your own household.

Complaints

Email us first and we will take it seriously and reply within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

We will post any change here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects you we will email you.
